Frequently asked payroll questions
Rise is priced per employee, per month, based on the plan and add-ons you have. Your cost scales with your headcount, not your number of pay runs. Book a demo for a quote tailored to your firm’s size, locations, and staff mix.
Yes, you can set up separate pay groups for partner draws, salaried associates, and hourly or salaried support staff. Each can have its own rules, schedules, and earning codes. When someone’s role or pay structure changes, you update one record, and the correct math is applied automatically.
Rise does not currently offer a direct integration with practice management tools. Most firms using Rise keep practice management (matters, billing, trust accounting) and people management (payroll, HR, benefits) as separate systems, since the data rarely needs to move between them day to day. If you need to move time or billing data between systems, Rise’s reporting can export what you need.
Most firms are up and running in a few weeks once we have the information we need. We migrate employee records from your current HR tool, bring over any key historical payroll data, set up your pay groups and time off rules, and pick a clean cut-over date from your current provider.
Rise is Canadian-hosted, uses two-factor authentication, and offers role-based permissions so partners, administrators, and staff only see what they’re supposed to. Change is logged for audit purposes. Your payroll, employee records, and benefits data are kept at a standard that matches what your firm already holds itself to.
Yes, Rise is built in Canada for Canadian businesses. We support federal and provincial payroll rules, calculate and remit deductions, file T4s and ROEs, and keep up with regulatory changes so your firm administrator doesn’t have to.
Yes, Rise integrates with Xero and QuickBooks Online, so payroll data flows directly into your general ledger. It’s less manual entry and reconciliation for your bookkeeper or controller.
