Lawfirms Hero
Lawfirms Modern Platform

Replace your tool patchwork with one modern platform

Most firms still run payroll in one system, HR in another, and time off in a spreadsheet. Rise pulls it all into one platform: one employee record, one pay run, one place to look things up. Fewer reconciliations, fewer exports, and a single vendor relationship for the firm administrator to manage.

Lawfirms Handle Partners

Handle partners, associates, paralegals, and support staff on one system

Law firms don't have one kind of employees. Associates are salaried. Paralegals and administrative staff are either hourly or salaried, with different schedules. Partners have unique comp plans.

Rise handles each pay type with its own rules, so the right math runs automatically for every person on the firm's list without the administrator having to remember which tool calculates what.

Lawfirms Organized And Searchable

Keep confidential employee files organized and searchable

Partnership agreements, CPD certificates, confidentiality attestations, signed offer letters, and performance records — law firms carry more paperwork per employee than almost any other sector. Rise gives every employee a secure digital file that's easy to update, easy to find, and accessible only to the people who should see it. No more hunting through shared drives for a document from 2019.

Lawfirms Secure By Default

Secure by default, because your firm's data can't leak

Two-factor authentication, role-based access, Canadian hosting, and audit trails come standard. You decide who sees payroll, who sees employee files, and who sees nothing beyond their own record. It's the kind of posture your IT lead and your partners both expect.

Lawfirms Stay Compliant

Stay compliant with Canadian payroll without becoming an expert

Federal and provincial payroll rules, T4s, ROEs, CPP/EI, remittance deadlines — Rise calculates and files the right amounts on time. Your firm administrator doesn't need to become a payroll specialist, and your finance team doesn't need to double-check every deduction before a pay run goes out.

Lawfirms Offer Benefits

Offer benefits that help you compete with bigger firms

Retaining associates and experienced support staff means offering more than a competitive salary. Rise Health makes it simple to set up and manage group benefits that feel modern, and offer the kind of coverage and enrolment experience your people would expect at a much larger firm, without the admin overhead of one.

Frequently asked payroll questions

Rise is priced per employee, per month, based on the plan and add-ons you have. Your cost scales with your headcount, not your number of pay runs. Book a demo for a quote tailored to your firm’s size, locations, and staff mix.

Yes, you can set up separate pay groups for partner draws, salaried associates, and hourly or salaried support staff. Each can have its own rules, schedules, and earning codes. When someone’s role or pay structure changes, you update one record, and the correct math is applied automatically.

Rise does not currently offer a direct integration with practice management tools. Most firms using Rise keep practice management (matters, billing, trust accounting) and people management (payroll, HR, benefits) as separate systems, since the data rarely needs to move between them day to day. If you need to move time or billing data between systems, Rise’s reporting can export what you need.

Most firms are up and running in a few weeks once we have the information we need. We migrate employee records from your current HR tool, bring over any key historical payroll data, set up your pay groups and time off rules, and pick a clean cut-over date from your current provider.

Rise is Canadian-hosted, uses two-factor authentication, and offers role-based permissions so partners, administrators, and staff only see what they’re supposed to. Change is logged for audit purposes. Your payroll, employee records, and benefits data are kept at a standard that matches what your firm already holds itself to.

Yes, Rise is built in Canada for Canadian businesses. We support federal and provincial payroll rules, calculate and remit deductions, file T4s and ROEs, and keep up with regulatory changes so your firm administrator doesn’t have to.

Yes, Rise integrates with Xero and QuickBooks Online, so payroll data flows directly into your general ledger. It’s less manual entry and reconciliation for your bookkeeper or controller.
