We’re looking for an Accounts Payable Manager that loves to be part of a growing and dynamic team to bring our HR + Benefits + Payroll solution to new heights. This is an opportunity to help shape a team and department.
Reporting to the VP, Client Services, you’ll assist in leading a team of customer support associates who provide accounting and tax related support to our customers. You’re versatile and have the ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle a myriad of different functions. You believe your hands-on approach, analytical mind and problem-solving skills are your greatest assets.
You tackle challenges head-on, enjoy building processes, scaling operations, and are organized and an efficient team leader that thrives in a fast-paced environment of change. Your knowledge of payroll, year end processes, financial reporting, and payment processing will enable you develop best practices for the team you will be leading.
Here’s what you’ll be doing
#1) Drive the Accounting and Tax Support of our Customers
Aid with leading a team that provides accounting and tax support to our customers. Finance team provides accounting support such as general banking tasks, monthly client billings, A/P, A/R, payroll journal entries, source deduction issues and reconciliation, and tax-related duties such as reporting Quebec’s Remittance Forms and Reconciliation and Ontario/BC EHT.
#2) Build and Streamline Processes
You will be responsible for reviewing, improving and implementing processes to ensure we have the proper checks and balances in place, streamline existing processes to create efficiencies, and assist in developing a high performing team, which includes mentorship and leadership. These processes are in relation to all of the support we provide to our customers.
#3) Collaborate with Other Leaders
As a senior member on the Client Services team, you will be collaborating with other leaders within Client Services and other departments to ensure that new processes rolled out are adopted, and that changes to our product that require support from Finance team are developed and implemented.
- CGA/CPA Certification an asset
- A Bachelor degree in accounting or business preferred
- Experience with audit controls
- Familiar with SOX compliance and controls
- General Tax Compliance knowledge
- 2-3 years experience working with clients, and ideally leading and managing people
- Professional and proactive in both oral and written communication
- Client focused & great at problem solving
- Excel based reporting proficiency
- General payroll experience
- Understanding of payroll year end processes
